Updated October 1, 2026Version française

The short version

  • Five providers handle personal information today, all in the United States.
  • Two more are coming: Twilio on 24 October 2026 for text messages, and Anthropic on 26 October 2026 for the AI features. From 31 October 2026, Anthropic also reads the texts your customers send you, for businesses that turn on the texting assistant. This page gives the 30 days' notice we promise.
  • We update this page at least 30 days before a new one starts.

A summary to help you read. The full text below is what applies.

A subprocessor is a company we engage to help provide Rentopus, which may handle personal information in doing so. Each is bound by a written agreement to protect it, and we remain responsible for their work under our Data Processing Addendum.

2. Starting soon

Text messages to your customers are built into Rentopus. From 24 October 2026, and not before, Twilio sends them, and receives the replies and delivery reports. It handles only the messages of customers who agreed to receive texts.

Two AI features are built into Rentopus: Write it for me, which drafts the text of your booking website, and the import assistant, which reads your website, price sheets, photos or spreadsheets to fill in your catalog. From 26 October 2026, and not before, Anthropic runs them. It receives only what you ask these features to read: your business's own details, rentals, prices and website text, and the files or description you give the import assistant. For these two features it does not receive your customers' information from Rentopus.

A third, the texting assistant, answers the texts your customers send to your business's number: what is free on a date, what a party would cost with delivery, and a link to book. It is off until you turn it on. From 31 October 2026, and not before, Anthropic runs it too. For it, Anthropic receives the texts in the conversation, which hold whatever the customer writes, such as a date or a delivery address, along with your business's details, rentals and prices. It does not receive your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or past orders from Rentopus.

Anthropic does not use what it receives to train its models.
